| There are no diamond covered houses in heaven. There are no roads paved with gold. This is a silly thing to imagine. A spiritual place fulfilled by the very presence of God relying on things of value to this world and selfish greedy human beings for beauty? When the bible says the roads of heaven are paved in gold, it is merely suggesting that the sheer glory of God in His purest and truest form devalues our diamonds and gold so much that we might as well use them build houses and roads, where our horses and mules will piss and shit all over them, and they will be as common as stone and lumber. |
